Tony Dow, who portrayed Wally Cleaver on the popular television program “Leave It to Beaver” in the 1950s, has passed away. On May 5, the actor and his wife, Lauren Shulkind, revealed the terrible news that Dow had been diagnosed with cancer and was fighting the disease valiantly.
Tony Lee Dow was an American actor, sculptor, producer, and director of motion pictures. His performance in the television sitcom Leave It to Beaver, which aired in primetime from 1957 to 1963, is what made him most famous.

The Greatest Show on Earth, Never Too Young, My Three Sons, Dr. Kildare, and Lassie were among the other shows in which Dow appeared. In The New Leave It to Beaver, which ran from 1983 to 1989, Dow reprised his legendary part as Wally opposite Jerry Mathers.
In an interview with the Arizona Republic in 2017, Dow discussed his acting career and the 60th anniversary of Leave It To Beaver. On the MeTV television network in April 2019, Dow was spotted promoting Leave It To Beaver and other vintage television series.
He received the Former Child Star Lifetime Achievement Award from the Young Artist Foundation in 1987 for his portrayal of Wally Cleaver. Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star, which came out in 2003, included Dow’s most recent on-screen appearance.

When Dow spent a brief period in the hospital in August of last year with pneumonia, which his family insisted had nothing to do with Covid, word of his health problems spread.
His frightened wife revealed that due to an increase in Delta variant Covid-19 instances in California at the time, he had to wait 24 hours for a hospital bed. Shulkind said that Dow was in high spirits and receiving plenty of IV fluids despite a ferocious cough that was creating discomfort on top of his head.
