How Did Marsha Hunt Die? Husband, Cause Of Death

Marsha Hunt Cause Of Death

Marsha Hunt, an activist, and former Hollywood star passed away at the age of 104. Hunt, who achieved her greatest fame for her parts in These Glamour Girls, Pride, and Prejudice, and Raw Deal, faded from view after being banned from the business during the McCarthyite communist witch hunts.

The Hollywood Reporter received confirmation of her passing from Roger C Memos, the writer, and director of the 2014 documentary Marsha Hunt’s Sweet Adversity.

Hunt passed away in Sherman Oaks, California, home from natural causes.

She began her career as a model before turning 17 and signing with the Paramount Pictures studio. With an almost 80-year career, Marsha Hunt was an American actress, model, and campaigner.

In the 1950s, during McCarthyism, she was placed on a blacklist by executives of Hollywood film studios. When Hunt and her second husband, screenwriter Robert Presnell Jr., joined a group that opposed the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1947, Hunt’s career took a turn.

Hunt refused to apologize for her membership with the committee, which included a ruse in which she and other members traveled to Washington, DC, to attend HUAC hearings and support creatives under investigation, even though she would later admit that she had no special ties to communism.

She was banned from Hollywood in 1950.

Marsha Hunt was married to Presnell.

Her nieces and nephews, including actor and filmmaker Allan Hunt, survive her.
