Who is Forenza Murphy? Prisoner On Run For Months Arrested At His Birthday Party

After months on the run, a prisoner was apprehended during his own birthday celebration. At the Connecticut Department of Corrections halfway house in Bridgeport, Forenza Murphy, 31, was incarcerated for four years for robbery when he escaped on August 8.

But the inmate was quickly taken into custody after a member of the public informed authorities that he was attending his own birthday party at a family member’s residence in Georgia on Saturday afternoon. The sheriff’s office’s Special Investigation Unit detained Forenza, who is now facing more charges.

Prisoner Arrested At His Birthday Party

Police have been looking for the prisoner since August, according to sheriff Reginald Scandrett, and they won’t give up until they find him. On Facebook, the sheriff disclosed: “If you make your way into Henry County, we’re going to get on your trail, and we won’t stop until you’re caught.”

Police applauded the collaborative search that resulted in the capture of Forenza and said it was a fantastic effort. Reginald added: “It was a great collaborative effort with The Connecticut [Department Of Correction] that led to the apprehension of Murphy.”

What Happened?

He is currently being held at the Henry County Jail and is anticipated to face additional charges after escaping prison without authorization. The arrest occurs only a few days after a prisoner serving a life sentence for a terrifying explosion that occurred outside a Las Vegas nightclub in 2007.
