Who is Andrew Fahie?
Andrew Alturo Fahie is a politician from the British Virgin Islands who has served as Premier since February 26, 2019. In the British Virgin Islands, he is also the chairman of the Virgin Islands Party.
He has served as the elected member of the First District since the general election in 1999.

Andrew Fahie Arrested
The US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) detained Fahie in Miami on April 28, 2022, on allegations of money laundering and conspiracy to import 5 kg of c*caine.
According to the complaint, Andrew Fahie and the managing director of the British overseas territory’s Ports Authority were arrested at a Miami airport, based on detailed testimony from a confidential informant.

According to the DEA complaint, Fahie agreed to allow the informant, who was masquerading as a member of Mexico’s Sinaloa dr*g cartel, to smuggle c*caine through the British Virgin Islands in exchange for a payment of $500,000.
Governor of the British Virgin Islands, John Rankin, was the first to announce Fahie’s arrest. In a statement, Rankin said: “I realize this will be shocking news for people in the Territory,”
He added, “And I would call for calm at this time.”
According to the accusation, Fahie was arrested in Miami after being handed fancy shopping bags aboard a private plane that reportedly displayed $700,000 for him and Oleanvine Maynard.
Officials from the British Virgin Islands Ports Authority and Fahie could not be reached for comment right away.
