2008 EISNER AWARD NOMINATIONS!

And while we’re on the subject of San Diego, we’d also like to congratulate Jeff Lemire and Matt Kindt for their 2008 Eisner Award Nominations as well:

– Best Graphic Album New: Essex County (Vols. 1-2) by Jeff Lemire
– Best Graphic Album Reprint: Super Spy by Matt Kindt
– Best Writer/Artist: Jeff Lemire (for Essex County Vols 1 & 2)

Jeff Lemire not only received these two Eisner Award nominations, but was also nominated for a Harvey, the Doug Wright, and also won the 2008 Schuster Award for Outstanding Canadian Comic Book Cartoonist, and the 2008 American Library Association Alex Award — all for his ground breaking work on the ESSEX COUNTY TRILOGY.

And Matt Kindt was also nominated for 3 Harvey Awards this year for Best Cartoonist, Excellence in Presentation, and Best Colorist — all for his amazing SUPER SPY.
