Who is it for?
This service is aimed at publishers, self-publishers, creators, bloggers, comic retailers, and comic- and graphic novel-related sites who are interested in “trading” banners.

Trading banners is just as it sounds: two parties would essentially swap banners (the deal to trade banners would be conducted by the two parties- not ICN) so that their individual banners would appear on the other party’s web site or blog, linking to the other’s web site.

And there is no limit to the number of trades you can make as a result of your banner trading ad.

Why have a banner trading ad?
You will be in the position to potentially have your banner on numerous web sites and/or blogs visited by people who make up your target market. Doing this will give you the following benefits:

• The opportunity to increase sales
• Expose your titles, company, web site, store, or blog to hundreds or possibly thousands of people.
• The chance to partner with other businesses and creators who share the same market / readership, further expanding your market awareness
• Plus, you’ll be returning the favor to the party you trade banners with.

How does it work?
It is a simple three-step process.

Step One:
If you are interested in having a banner trading ad on the Banner Trading Ad page, send an email with the following information:

Your name

What your vocation is (Please note that this service is only open to independent comic book / graphic novel publishers, creators, and self-publishers, comic book stores, and bloggers who write about or review indy comics and graphic novels)

Your site’s URL

What audience or target market you are aiming for (examples would be teens, horror fans, people who read reviews, etc.)

A contact email

Available banner space sizes on your site or blog (examples would be 125 x 150 or 300 x 300)
What type of banners you are willing to accept (examples would be jpg, gif, animated gif, Flash animations, etc.)
You will also want to keep in mind you’ll have a greater chance of trading banners of the same size. So if you are offering 125 x 125 banner space on your site, then you should offer the same size banner.

A direct link to a banner ad you would like to trade with another party along with the dimensions of the banner(s) in pixels. This banner ad will be displayed on the Banner Trading page so please ensure the direct link works. A direct link is a link to a graphic hosted online, such as on Flickr or Photobucket.

Step Two:
Once we have all your information, we will send you an invoice which has to be paid before your banner trading ad goes live.

Step Three:
After your banner trading ad goes live on the Banner Trading Ads page (your ad will display the information you sent us in Step One), companies, creators, publishers, and other similar parties will be able to contact you via email in regards to trading banners. It will then be up to you and the other party to work out a banner trading deal which should entail you both email the other your same size or similar size banner ad to be placed on your individual web site or blog.

How much will this cost me?

For the months of March and April, this service is free to everyone to try. Beginning May 1st, there will be a charge of only $3.00 US for 30 days of having your banner trading ad on the page.

New banner ads are only added on the 1st and 15th of every month with the banner ads ending on the 30th or 31st, and the 15th of the month after your ad begins, respectively.

You will be sent a renewal reminder near the end of your 30 days so you can continue having your banner trading ad on the page without interruption.
